Becoming BAHO
Noelle Sangster, a life long equine enthusiast and advocate for better horsemanship started Bale a Horse Out (BAHO) in 2017. It was a 'self-funded' project that fostered and provided interim housing and care for OTTBs and range mustangs in Cave Creek, Arizona.
After gaining several years experience in holistic equine care and helping many horses find new homes after their rehabilitation, she moved to Central Arizona and within a couple of years decided that the rescue/rehab and education deserved to be Non-profit to better serve and reach the communities that it helped.
In 2023 Bale a Horse Out Foundation got it's nonprofit status. Unfortunately , shortly after, the founding member, Noelle Sangster, stepped away for personal reasons. She was asked to come back to the nonprofit effort going into 2026, as the Executive Director of the efforts she began in 2017.

Our Mission
At Bale a Horse Out, we are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating horses who have faced neglect or abandonment. We provide a sanctuary for displaced horses, allowing them to heal and thrive in a supportive environment. For some it's a great stop on the way to their forever homes and people; for others this is their forever home. Part of our mission is to educate horse owners on responsible care and horsemanship, ensuring a brighter future for both horses and their humans. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these incredible animals.
